It's not a New Year's Resolution...it's a New Year's Revolution.

Like many others, I always had a New Year's resolution. I would stick to to it for maybe about half the year, then I would get really busy and kinda put it on the back burner.

Looking back at this past year, I really don't have any issues or problems left unresolved. I welcomed all the changes that came my way, and that meant ending my relationships with some people I felt were hurtful to my over-all well-being and soul. Some people just change for the worse, and sometimes you just have to go with your instinct about people and take a different path. I'm just not down with people who put too much of an emphasis on being materialistic and superficial. I just can't stand people who can't keep it real. I just find it draining to deal with people who are in constant need of validation. New clothes are nice and temporary, but it's your self-esteem and self-confidence that make you shine (thank goodness I have plenty of both). Bottom line, I'm just getting too darn old to deal with people like that.

I feel a lot of changes coming my way, most of which have to do with my future with Paul. We had a nice long talk during our drive back up from SoCal, and my change of address in the near future is becoming more and more of a reality.

With that said, I have no resolutions because I have no regrets. This New Year will be a revolution of sorts for me. I will continue to strive for enlightenment and personal growth. After all, the only thing that is constant is change. I think I'll just keep going with the flow of this new path I have chosen, and be thankful for all the blessings along the way.

Happy New Year everyone!

I could really get used to seeing this all the time.

Winter WonderLAnd

I can't hardly wait until Christmas break! I'm looking forward to our annual pilgrimage down HWY 101 to SoCal.

It will be a great break from the standard norm of teaching, working, and going to class. I just want to let the doggies run on the beach. I just want to run on the beach. I want to spend some quality time with Paul where I don't have to drive back after the weekend is over.

Paul and I are starting to talk about our plans concerning our immediate future. By that, I mean our one-year plan. Looks like it will be my turn to relocate come next year. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to celebrating our two-year anniversary soon. Oh yay! Time flies when you're having fun and in love. Extra cheese with that please. Hah.

On to other updates for now. Boxing and soccer are going well. I've been busy with both jobs and school, but I'm also glad that I've had the opportunity to check-in with folks like Kim M., the Junsays and Larrah. My co-teachers are cool and we're all working really well together. I also made a new friend in my trainer Casey. She is mad cool and I can appreciate her passion and dedication to boxing. I can't wait to watch her fight this Friday!

Falling Up

Falling up is one of my favorite poems by Shel Silverstein. I like the idea of falling up. I might have a few obstacles that tripped me up, but it's all good. I got back up each and every time.

The changes continue to be constant and good.  I think that the universe is doing a little karmic cleansing, whereas I am re-connecting with some old friends and making new ones, and people with negative and bad energy are exiting my life. I feel that I am in a very good place in my life and that although I am extremely busy, I feel settled. All is right in my life.

I'm thankful to be as busy as I am, for all the opportunities. I'm exhausted, but it's all worth it. I am looking forward to start boxing again. It's long overdue. I'm fortunate that Paul understands why I need to go back to training. Nothing says "I Love You" like getting a new pair of bag gloves from your man. Haha. I've been feeling restless, and I've been dying to use the bag gloves his mom got for me in Thailand.

I have to give more props to Paul for taking care of me this weekend while I was sick. You put up with my fussiness and crankiness, and most of all, my bottled water request. It was just easier to have a bottle of water next to our bed. If you really think about it, Honey, I saved ya a couple of trips to the fridge in the middle of the night. Love you! I really do take comfort in the fact that no matter how stressed out or exhausted I am, at the end of the day, I have a good man to take care of me.

I continue to be open to and welcome the upcoming changes. My spiritual and physical beings are in sync, and it feels peaceful.

Another SoCal Weekend

Congrats to Raymond and Jess!

Paul and I had a great time at the wedding. Big thanks to Ernest and Sharon for picking us up from the airport.

After three flight delays at LAX, we finally made it back to the Bay in the early afternoon. Southwest Airlines was a hot mess today. It was an exhausting day, and after a quick shower and lunch, it was all about knocking out for a long nap.

Bye for now SoCal Superfriends! We'll see you all during Christmas break!

True love at its finest. Hah. Jui Jitsu and all.

It's a Small World After All

Just ask my douchebag ex-fiancée who was stuck in traffic right next to me at the toll plaza heading into the city. Why did you look so scared Voltaire? It's like you saw a ghost or something. Did it suddenly dawn on you just how small the world truly is? You can only hide from the truth for so long. Today was a reminder that EVERYTHING will catch up to you. You can't hide from karma.

I guess you're regretting driving with the top down on your car today. It was amusing watching your balls shrink back into your body. I bet your colleagues have never seen a medical anomaly like that before. Nice friggin' Justin Bieber haircut and UCLA hat. I'm so glad I didn't marry you sorry-ass. COWARD. Don't worry. It's a small world and you're bound to run into me again.

It's only a matter of time before karma catches up. She's mad as hell and she's just getting started.

Thirty-Four

I'm another year older, and a bit wiser.

Everything in my life is in its rightful place, and progressing quite nicely.

There are three little girls in my life that I love and adore. I've had the pleasure of watching them grow up these past five years.

I am teaching again, but I'm learning just as much from my new students. Preschoolers rock!

I have a wonderful man. Paul, I don't nearly give you enough credit for all the great things that you do for me. I love you. Thanks for being a G.

My family is the best, and I'm fortunate to have their love and support.

I have awesome friends, both old and new. Although I feel that some of my friendships are changing, I'm going to leave that up to the universe to dictate.

I feel that a big life change is right around the corner and I'm looking forward to it.

My health is improving, and I'm hoping that both my spiritual and physical beings will find harmony with each other.

It was an awesome birthday and a super birthday month!

Happy Birthday Month to Me

Me and Notorious D.O.G. on our way to Huntington Beach

It's August! My birth month! Hooray! I don't know if it's because I'm the bunso or the youngest child, but my family has always allowed me to celebrate not just my birth day, but an the entire month. I think they've done that mostly because they always found my birthday wish lists (filled with childhood illusions of grandeur) fairly amusing. I mean it was both practical and normal to wish for the ability to fly and have heat vision to accompany my Super Man outfit, right? I also asked for my very own ice cream truck so that I would never run out of ice cream. I always had something Sanrio or Hello Kitty on my lists too.

I have to say, my best birthday will always be my 7th birthday party at Jollibee in the Philippines. It was the last birthday I had with my Lolo Seniong, who was one of the most honorable and compassionate men I've ever met. He was a huge influence in my life. And who can forget my Footloose dance battle? My Mom still has that beta-max video of me dancing somewhere. Eek.

Last month was rough for me, starting with a pulled calf muscle that has sidelined me from running and playing soccer. I'm hoping to get back into it and start training for that half marathon in October. I also just finished radioactive iodine treatment for my hyperthyroid/Graves Disease. I'm looking forward to having improved health. It's been difficult and frustrating for me as an athlete to have to fight fatigue just to work out. Not to mention the rheumatoid arthritis too.

So here's to a great birthday month and an awesome birthday too!
